Digital Preservation Policy

Prometeo Journal is compatible with the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system that guarantees the journal a permanent and secure archive. LOCKSS is an open-source program developed by the Stanford University Library that enables libraries to curate selected web journals by regularly searching registered journals to collect newly published content and archive it. Each file is continually validated against records from other libraries, so any damaged or lost content can be restored using those records or the journal itself..

Prometeo Journal is part of the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) project, with ID No. 125922DB-9791-4340-B82A-6C5F0DB433B3, this initiative preserves the archives of journals that use OJS.
In addition, our magazine continuously performs backups of the databases that make up the magazine and of the published articles. These backups are made on the servers of Puerto Madero Editorial Académica, and on the banahosting servers located in the United States and Europe.
