Author Guidelines

• All collaborations must be unpublished and must not be simultaneously submitted to other journals or editorial bodies. In addition, they must meet the following characteristics:

  • Submit a Microsoft Word file, with 12-point Times New Roman font and 1,5 spacing.
  • Adhere to the publication standards of the APA (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition).
  • Include a summary and keywords in Spanish and English of 150 and 250 words. They will specify the objective, relevance of the research, methodology, results and conclusions.
  • Include title in Spanish and title in English.

  NOTE: During a submission, in the "Quotes" section, the bibliography cited in the text being postulated must be inserted.

   

  Articles of a scientific nature: basic and/or applied research papers. It will consist of an introduction, which will be brief and will contain the intention of the work: an overview of the topic or problem addressed, state of the art or review of the literature, gap in knowledge, objectives and justification. Material and method: the material used in the work, its characteristics, selection criteria and techniques used, tools, procedures and limits of the methodology used will be exposed, providing the necessary bibliographic or direct data, so that the reported experience can be repeated by the reader (realizes what, how, with what and why of the strategy with which the research question was resolved or the objectives were reached). Results: the observations made with the material and method used are reported, not interpreted. These data can be published in detail in the text or in the form of tables and figures, graphs, diagrams, maps, etc.; as long as their use is duly justified. Discussion: the authors will present their opinions based on those results, their possible interpretation, application with the results obtained by other authors in similar publications, suggestions for future work on the subject, etc. Conclusions. Thanks. Bibliographic references.

  Theoretical Reviews Articles. The text will be divided into all those sections that the authors consider necessary for a perfect understanding of the subject matter. By way of reference, they may contain the following sections: introduction, background, the current status of the topic, conclusions, practical applications, future lines of research, acknowledgments, references and tables/graphs.

  It should be borne in mind that, according to the quality criteria for journals assumed by our journal, the percentage of theoretical review articles, out of the total published by issue, may not exceed 25%, that is, at least 75% must be original articles that communicate research results. Likewise, at least 80% of the authors must be external to the editorial committee and virtually unrelated to the editorial organization of the journal.

Errata and retractions: The publication of errata is allowed and we are responsible for the retraction of articles.

Formal aspects for the drafting of the common structures of the articles:

Title
It should be concise and informative, and formulas and abbreviations should be avoided whenever possible. The title in English should also be included.

Key words
Include a maximum of 6 keywords after the abstract.

For articles in the health area, the keywords in Spanish please use the terms DECS (https://decs.bvsalud.org/es/) and for keywords in English use MESH (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/).

Author:
Authors' names and institutional affiliations should be verified correctly, including the ORCID of each author. Indicate all affiliations with an Arabic numeral in superscript at the end of each author's last name. In the case of the corresponding author, it must be stated who will be responsible for receiving the correspondence during the whole process of evaluation and publication of the article, as well as after its publication. The e-mail address of the corresponding author must be current and correct.
At the end of the article, the authorship contribution must be declared in accordance with the Taxonomy of Contributor Roles (CRediT).

Structured summary:
The abstract should not exceed 250 words and in the case of the structured abstract it should have the following structure: Introduction; Objective; Methods; Results; Conclusions.

Acknowledgments
Place acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the manuscript and after the References. Do not mention them elsewhere in the article. Include those who collaborated in the preparation of the article (for example, by reviewing the writing or translation of the article).

Format of funding sources
State the sources of funding using the following standard format required by funding entities:
Funding: The present work was funded by XXXXXX [grant number xxxx, yyyy].

Units of measure
The units of measurement must be according to the International System of Units (SI). If you mention other types of units, please provide their SI equivalent.

Tables
The inclusion of the results in tables rather than in the text allows to reduce its length. Tables should be numbered consecutively in the order of citation in the text and provide a title for each one. Titles should be short but clear, containing information that allows understanding their content without the need to return to the text.
Be sure that each table is cited in the text. Each column should have a short abbreviated title. Explanations should be placed in footnotes to the table, not in its title.
Explain all abbreviations in footnotes and use symbols to explain information if necessary. Symbols may vary between journals (alphanumeric characters or symbols such as *, +, ‡, §).
Identify statistical measures of variation, such as standard deviation and standard error of the mean. If you use data from another published or unpublished source, you must obtain permission and cite it.

Graphics, illustrations and figures
They should be added in the body of the article with a good resolution. Figures should be as self-explanatory as possible.
For radiological and other clinical diagnostic images, as well as for photographs of anatomic pathology specimens or microphotographs, please submit high-resolution photographic image files. Photographs showing before and after surgery should be taken with the same characteristics of intensity, direction and color of ambient light.
Microphotographs should have internal scale markers. Symbols, arrows or letters used in microphotographs should contrast with the background. Explain the scale and identify the method of staining in microphotographs.
They should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are cited in the text. If a figure has been previously published, identify the original source and submit written permission from the rights holder to reproduce it. Separate permission from the author and publisher is required, except for documents that are in the public domain.
In the manuscript, legends for illustrations should be at the bottom, identified with Arabic numerals corresponding to the illustrations. When symbols, arrows, numbers or letters are used to identify parts of the illustrations, each of them must be clearly explained in the legend.

Abbreviations and symbols
Use only ordinary abbreviations; non-standard use of abbreviations may be confusing to readers. Avoid abbreviations in the title of the manuscript. The detailed abbreviation followed by the abbreviation in parentheses should be used in the first mention unless the abbreviation is a standard unit of measurement.

Ethics of scientific publication:
The research should be in accordance with the regulations related to the ethics of the instigation of each country and/or region, for which the authors should request the pertinent authorizations.

Conflict of interest

All authors must report any personal or financial relationships with individuals or organizations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work.
In this regard, the journal follows the Recommendations for the conduct, reporting, editing, and publication of scholarly work in biomedical journals developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), which can be consulted in section II-B-2 at the following link: https://www.icmje.org/recommendations/translations/spanish2021.pdf.
If there is no conflict of interest, authors should declare in the corresponding section: "Conflicts of interest: none".
In the case of conflicts of interest, the authors of the articles should declare it in the corresponding section (Conflicts of interest), and attach the declaration of Conflicts of Interest according to the model proposed by the ICMJE (https://www.icmje.org/downloads/coi_disclosure.docx). The information in the declaration must coincide with that of the manuscript submitted.

Financing

Authors should state the details of the institution(s) that provided financial support for the conduct of the research and/or preparation of the article, as well as briefly describe the role played by the sponsors in the design of the study, the collection, analysis and interpretation of the data, the writing of the article or the decision to submit the article for publication. If there was no involvement of any kind, please indicate this as well.

Contribution of authorship according to the Taxonomy of Contributor Roles (CRediT)

The role contributions of each author are subject to the CRediT taxonomy (https://casrai.org/credit/). The Taxonomy of contributor roles in Spanish is a tool that distributes the roles of participation in 14 typologies through which an author can be recognized in the publication.
Each role is defined below:
⦁ Conceptualization - Ideas; formulation or evolution of the overall research objectives and goals.
⦁ Data curation - Management activities to annotate (produce metadata), clean data, and maintain research data (including software code, where necessary to interpret the data itself) for initial use and subsequent reuse.
⦁ Formal analysis - Application of statistical, mathematical, computational or other formal techniques to analyze or synthesize study data.
⦁ Fund Acquisition - Acquisition of financial support for the project leading to this publication.
⦁ Research - Conducting an investigation and research process, specifically conducting experiments, or data/evidence collection.
⦁ Methodology - Methodology development or design; modeling.
⦁ Project Administration - Management responsibility and coordination of the planning and execution of the research activity.
⦁ Resources - Provision of study materials, reagents, materials, patients, laboratory specimens, animals, instrumentation, computer resources or other analytical tools.
⦁ Software - Programming, software development; design of computer programs; implementation of computer code and supporting algorithms; testing of existing code components.
⦁ Supervision - Supervisory and leadership responsibility for planning and execution of research activities, including mentoring external to the core team.
⦁ Validation - Verification, either as part of the activity or separately, of the overall replicability/reproducibility of the results/experiments and other research outputs.
⦁ Visualization - Preparation, creation and/or presentation of published work, specifically the visualization/presentation of data.
⦁ Writing - original draft - Preparation, creation and/or presentation of the published work, specifically the writing of the initial draft (including substantive translation).
⦁ Writing - reviewing and editing - Preparation, creation and/or presentation of published work by members of the original research group, specifically critical review, commentary or revision - including pre- or post-publication stages.

Bibliographic references
Bibliographical references should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they first appear in the text.
References should be as recent and relevant as possible, and carefully written according to APA format (Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7ª edición).

The use of bibliographic managers is recommended for the management of bibliographic references, especially Zotero or EndNote.

Access rights
All articles published in open access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy and distribute.

User rights
Permitted reuse by third parties is defined by the Attribution 4.0 International 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/deed.en).

Charge for publication of articles
As an open access journal with no subscription charges, the author or research funder must pay an Article Publishing Charge (APC) to cover the costs associated with publication. This ensures that your article is immediately and permanently freely accessible to everyone.

The APC of this journal is 150 USD

Publication charges should only be paid by the authors once the articles have been accepted.

Residents in Argentina: free of charge

Annually the journal will award partial/full scholarships for the publication of articles in the journal for which you should consult editor@prometeojournal.com.ar.
