Innovative strategies with ICT and artificial intelligence in mathematics learning in Basic General Education

This study analyzes the impact of innovative strategies mediated by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and artificial intelligence on mathematics learning in Basic General Education. A mixed-method approach with a quasi-experimental design was applied, including pre-test and post-test measures in a sample of 289 students from public schools in the provinces of Pichincha, Imbabura, and Cotopaxi. Quantitative results showed significant improvements in academic performance in the experimental group compared to the control group, while qualitative findings revealed increased motivation, active participation, autonomy, and conceptual understanding. Additionally, the use of adaptive platforms, gamification, and artificial intelligence enhanced personalized learning and immediate feedback processes. However, challenges related to connectivity, teacher training, and equitable access to technology were identified. In conclusion, the pedagogical integration of ICT and artificial intelligence represents an effective strategy to improve mathematics learning, provided it is implemented through a contextualized, inclusive, and didactic approach.
