Introduction: The article addresses the concept of intergenerational inclusive experiences in education, highlighting the importance of reciprocal relationships between older adults, children and adolescents to build exchanges based on generational strengths. Objective: The objective of the article is to propose a cognitive stimulation program for the intergenerational inclusion of older adults, seeking to improve their quality of life through the exchange of learning between generations. The research adopts a qualitative and ethnographic approach to explore the subjective meanings and context of the Cacha community. Methods: The cognitive stimulation program is implemented and evaluated for its impact on the inclusion of older adults. The data collected are analyzed using SPSS v.27 software. The study focuses on the population of 200 inhabitants of 7 educational establishments in the community of Cacha, selecting a purposive sample of 51 older adults. Various instruments are used, such as the Mini Mental State Examination (MEEM) and the Barthel test to assess cognitive function and independence in daily activities. The Lawton and Brody test is also used to assess Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) and the Yesavage Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) to measure depression in older adults. Results: The results reveal a significant relationship between depression, mental status, and functionality in daily activities in older adults. Conclusions: It is concluded that the implementation of the cognitive stimulation program can contribute to improve mental health and functionality in daily activities. Given that a correlation is established between depression, mental state and functionality in older adults, it is suggested that this type of intervention can comprehensively address the cognitive and emotional aspects that affect the quality of life of this population.
