Introduction: The present research is framed within the research line Associativity and Productivity, due to the fact that the factors that condition the productivity of savings and credit cooperatives as part of the social and solidarity economy were studied; and, how that productivity is managed, in such a way that they remain and grow in the markets in which they operate also contributing to the social development of their communities.
Objective: The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of the Credit Portfolio and Collection Department on the efficiency of credit portfolio management for continuous improvement at Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito San José Ltda.
Methods: The research assumes a quantitative approach, because of the level of depth it is considered a descriptive research with the purpose of analyzing the problem in question and analyzing if it has a greater clarity even though more information is required to determine the causal relationships. The information was collected through primary sources, by means of documentary analysis of the data available at Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito San José Ltda., to determine the level of productivity of the credit and collection department of the Cooperative.
Results: As of the date of the analysis it could be determined that in the Cooperative there is no planned or sustained growth in the number of credit operations in each of the months corresponding to the periods analyzed; since as observed in 2015 there is a slight inertial growth of 1000 operations and in 2016 a little less than 700 operations.
Conclusions: By analyzing the information of the growth of operations per office that on average and distributed for the 40 Advisors represents, in the year 2015, a growth of 2 operations per month per Advisor; and, in the year 2016, one operation per Advisor.
